Abseil Thomond – a 1st for Down Syndrome Limerick
The inaugural Take a Leap for DSL is happening on September 18th! Abseil Thomond Park is a fundraiser to raise money for Down Syndrome Limerick. Limerick & District Credit Union are one of the sponsors for the event. Thomond Park Stadium is an iconic landmark in Limerick and the home of Munster Rugby. It is the first time that Down Syndrome Limerick has organised an abseiling event and they are hoping that many dare devils will take part and help them to raise funds for them so that they can continue to offer services to children and adults with Down syndrome. DSL are also looking to expand their services by opening a satellite clinic in West Limerick.
They have a few corporate sponsors lined up for the event. Today we focus on Limerick & District Credit Union.
Limerick and District Credit Union
Limerick and District Credit Union are like a bank that their members own. They have no nasty fees or charges and are up to date with the latest technology in terms of offering online banking, electronic transfer and have an App to manage your money. They also offer low loan interest with flexible payment options. They have varied opening times, including evenings in multiple locations across Limerick.
Limerick and District Credit Union are a not-for-profit organisation and heavily involved in giving back to the community. They undertake many charitable activities each year and are delighted to be able to support Down Syndrome Limerick, who do very valuable work in supporting people with Down syndrome.
Ellen Tuffy, Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick says,
“Limerick and District Credit Union are in the business of helping people on a not-for-profit basis. We are delighted that they are supporting us with this event. The team are a delight to deal with and we are so grateful for the sponsorship that they are giving us. Their involvement in the community and with charities is heart warming and we feel very lucky to be one of their chosen charities. We rely heavily on donations from individuals, clubs and businesses to keep our services going. A special word of thanks to Fiona Cox and all the team at LCU for all their help.”
