SUMMARY:Responsive Parenting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:DSL will host a Responsive/Co-Regulating Parenting Workshop on Friday March 3 from 10am to 12 noon for parents/guardians who are members of DSL.  The Workshop will be held by Michele Van Valey. \nMichele is a parent to a son with sensory needs\, dyslexia and dyspraxia.  He was very distressed at home and at school for a long period.  Although Michele tried to cope she found that her own reactions to his distress were not helping her.  A more responsive approach was needed to support herself and her son when things became intense. \nDuring the workshop Michele will explore how our body reacts to stress\, and how it affects our behaviour.  She will introduce some tools/practices we can use to help us (and help us to help our children) in these moments.  The workshop will finish with a short mindfulness practice. \nOpen to DSL members only.  Places Limited. Nominal charge of €15
