Now in it’s 21st year, the Tour de Munster, will once again complete over 600km throughout the 6 counties of Munster, raising funds and awareness for Down Syndrome Limerick and the neighbouring Munster branches. Each year local companies very kindly sponsor the jerseys for the event. And we are delighted to showcase those local businesses this week.
JJ Kenneally Jewellers:
JJ Kenneally Jewellers is the oldest jewellery business in Limerick city. In 1959, JJ started the business on Wickham St and it has continued to this day under the direction of sons, Fergus, Clive and Robbie. JJ Kenneallys has always prided itself on its fantastic customer service, quality products and after sale service. From medals, trophies and gifts to watches and jewellery, you will find everything you need for every occasion at JJ Kenneallys.
Robbie has been cycling with the Tour de Munster for 7 years. He originally got involved because of his friend Ritchie Walsh who avails of services at Down Syndrome Limerick. Robbie Kenneally says, “After I completed my first Tour and after meeting so many children and adults with Down syndrome, I was committed to supporting the charity thereafter as I witnessed the benefits it brought to the members of Down Syndrome Ireland Munster branches and their families”. Today, Robbie not only cycles with the Tour but is one of the annual sponsors.
Ellen Tuffy, Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick says, “JJ Kenneally Jewellers have supported Down Syndrome Limerick for many years and we are delighted that they are involved with the Tour de Munster, which is one of the most important fundraisers for us each year. It is wonderful to see sponsors also get involved with cycling the event – it makes it even more special for our families at DSL”.
